These images were taken with a variety of small, plastic cameras. I scanned the film and then edited and printed digitally. I am drawn to the unknown aspect of these cameras, of not having a light meter or even a real way to focus. What results are rough-edged pictures that point to the presence of the photographer; they signify the real while reminding us that photography can never truly represent it.
A series of video experiments where I am laying, sitting, or standing still and my dog exists around me. He is in constant motion, sniffing, twitching, adjusting, always looking, always observing. Coming in and out of the frame, he is the investigator, acting on instinct, walking a line between introspection and observation.
& a very fast and at times violent experience paired with a much calmer one.
